The Tale of Two Sports

The Gator baseball season kicks off today and Coach Meyer will be watching what unfolds in regard to Gavin Dickey:

"It is kind of a scary deal," Meyer said. "For our third quarterback, we are attempting to find a walk-on that can come in and play. (Recruit) Jarred Fayson is a guy who played high school quarterback. He can throw the ball pretty good, he's a good athlete and he can run some option."

Meyer likes baseball. He attended several games last spring, smiling and meeting new fans and friends. But this year, he may watch a little more closely when No. 17's at the plate.

Dickey is penciled in as a starter in the outfield. It remains to be seen if he sticks with the decision that he will be a baseball player only.
