Gators Upset in Pepsi Classic

In the first game of the Pepsi Baseball Classic that is being played this weekend in Gainesville, the #12 Misouri team came into our house and pounded on the Gator's Ace pitcher Bryan Ball. In his shortest outing all year, Bryan Ball gave up seven earned runs in a little over an inning of work. This is the second time this season the #1 ranked Gators have been upset at home. Misouri's starter Scherzer was the one who showed the pitching touch with limiting the Gators to 1 run of offense with a 8Ks over seven innings. LaPorta missed the opner due to an injury and could miss the entire weekend of play:

LaPorta will likely not be in the lineup against the Tigers. The UF slugger is listed as day-to-day with a strained oblique, an abdomen muscle.
