Meyer '06 Speak

Some interesting tidbits from Urban Meyer state of Union:

** Quarterbacks will be asked to make plays with their feet and Florida will run some option football. Meyer also said freshman Tim Tebow will play in games.
** Players will not answer questions about the NFL at any time during the season.
** Meyer said the Gators are "very poor" at the tailback position and said there really isn't a go-to guy there right now. He did say Kestahn Moore is the starter at this point but added that he wasn't pleased at all with the performance at this position.
Well, if the RB position has Urban ticked, the Center is even a tougher position with the vacancy of Degregory.
Florida center: The Gators have a ton of exciting skill talent to fit Urban Meyer's offense no matter what kind of scheme he chooses to employ. The big stumbling block at this point for the Gators is a very suspect O-line. Truth be told, Florida's front wasn't good last year and that was with steady center Mike Degory, who has since moved on to the NFL after he started 50 straight games for UF. Along with Degory, tackles Randy Hand and Lance Butler and guard Tavares Washington also must be replaced. Word is Steve Rissler, a starter at right guard the last six games of last season, likely will get the first shot at replacing Degory and hopefully for Meyer's sake can emerge as a leader for what will shape up as a very, very young line.
