Who would of believed this. Chris Leak doing well with the Gator offense . WR Cornelius is having a breakout camp.
But for the second straight day, the gap between the two units continued to close behind solid quarterbacking from senior Chris Leak and the reemergence of senior wide receiver Jemalle Cornelius.
The Gators still have questions at SS. Who will emerge is still up in the air. The guy who takes the position could be weeks away from his high school graduation:
Strong said he's excited to see Jon Demps, a sophomore recovering from November surgery on his left knee, audition for the position in August. True freshman Brandon Spikes, a five-star recruit from North Carolina, will get a chance on the strong side as well. Joiner, a junior safety, is another option. A year ago, Strong said the Gators would practice with Joiner, who entered the spring at 5 feet 11 and 208 pounds, as an outside linebacker. The change gave the Gators a nickel look, known in some circles as a 4-2-5 defense.
