The NC State basketball program will get a glimpse of reality over the next few seasons where they get a grip that competing with Duke's and the Carolina's is a long way off. In forcing the exit of Herb to the west coast the program is taking a step back.
As a result of the regime change at NCSU, the Gators were fortunate enough to have a spot available for Dan Werner who reneged from his initial inclination to attend NCSU after Sendek left. He entertained visits to a few other top programs but at the end of the day he decided Florida suits him best.
