Chris Leak and DeShawn Wynn Projections

Chris Leak and DeShawn Wynn are two seniors on the Gators 2006 squad who want to finish their Gator careers this season in style. These teammates were brought in by Ron Zook but their is a new sherriff in town in Urban Meyer. This will definately be Leak's team. It was Chris who broke all those records in high school, and showed alot of poise when he started as a true freshman. The potential is certainly there. I agree that this could be a special season for Leak:

I would take Leak over a raw Tereshinski or a flustered Ainge for that job any day of the week. Does this mean I think Florida will win every game? Absolutely not. But I wouldn't be floored to see a guy who has started straight 33 games give it a good run...
From the SEC numbers on Chris Leak:

Leak lost 10 SEC touchdowns in SEC action last year. Only coming away with 11 SEC touchdowns. I think his play last year was down as he adjusted to the new offense. I do see his numbers being more in line with what he put up year two under Zook. Overall, do I see 50 TDs in this year. Absolutely NOT. But, 35-40 TDs are not out of question. 3500 Passing yards is possible is he stays healthy.

It's not like Wynn is not capable of a great year:

It seems like a lifetime ago that he came to Florida from Ohio, where he and Maurice Clarett battled for top running back honors. Wynn, who rushed for 2,000 or more yards and 30 or more touchdowns in three of his four seasons at Reading High School in Cincinnati, chose Florida over Ohio State because Clarett had committed to the Buckeyes.
Wynn last year put up 7 TDs and a couple recieving TDs with an overall 1000 all purpose yards. I see him putting up about the same numbers with the competition of added talent around him. I see him finishing his year strong. But simply, there is plenty of talent to complement what he brings to the table. I think 1000 all purpose yards is a realistic with 10 overall TDs.
