Official Discussion: UK @ UF

Tonight at 7:45 pm the Kentucky Wildcats will travel to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators.  This game will be shown on ESPN.

The Gators are coming off a huge win over Tennessee in Knoxville, passing their first major hurdle on the SEC schedule.  Kentucky is coming off a pretty impressive win over Ole Miss.  Over the last few seasons Kentucky has put some scares into the Gators, including very close games in 2002 and 2003.  Then, of course, is the historic "Doering's Got a Touchdown" game in which the Gators needed a late touchdown to beat the Cats in the early 90s.

Although the Gators and Cats have become more of a rival on the hardwood, UF shouldn't look past Kentucky.  They shouldn't look past any SEC school.  However, this game really shouldn't be too scary for the Gators if they show up to the stadium ready to play.  Hopefully they are not looking forward to the stretch of games that include Bama, LSU, Auburn and UGA.

Some storylines for today could include:

  • Will Chris Leak continue his excellent play?
  • How will the D-Line perform minus Thomas?  Will Ray McDonald play well at DT and how will Harvey perform place of the suspended D-lineman?
  • If there's a blowout, will Tebow get a lot of snaps?
  • How drunk will the student section be?
ESPN, 7:45.  Check it out.

Other (kinda) big games for today include the Spartans visiting the Irish, Ohio St - Penn St and Wisky is currently in Ann Arbor taking on the Wolverines.
