Opponent: Georgia Bulldogs
Location: Athens, Georgia
Previous Game Against UF: 2006, lost to the Florida Gators 21-14.
This season: 5-2 (3-2 SEC)
Notable Statistic(s): This is the first time under Mark Richt that UGA has a bye prior to the Florida game. In games after a bye week, Richt is 9-2 at Georgia...Georgia claims they lead the all time series 46-37-2. The problem is that UGA claims a win in 1904, two years before the University of Florida was established in Gainesville. (Apparently, Georgia played 11 dudes who said they were from Florida.) Hey, whatever makes you sleep at night.
Notable Player(s): RB Knowshon Moreno is a freshman, but he will have to be the man today. He's averaging about 100 yards of offense and that will be necessary again with senior RB Thomas Brown out. Of Moreno's 119 rushing attempts, only 16 have been on third or fourth down.
QB Matt Stafford has 10 touchdowns and four picks in 208 attempts and is completing at a 55.3% clip. He's averaging about 195 yards per game and 6.6 per completion. Despite of the frat boy image that he has inspired, Stafford is a very sound QB, and his completion percentage is above 50% for each quarter.
Sophomore CB Prince Miller leads the Bulldogs with five passes broken up and LB Dannell Ellerbe leads UGA with 53 tackles.
Unconfirmed Rumor About Team: It has been well noted that Tim Tebow is not allowed to bench more than 400 pounds. Well, as the picture to the right shows, Georgia QB Matt Stafford is not allowed to bench a keg without a spotter.
