Alligator Army Gameday Notebook: October 6th

  • It's important to remember that even with a loss, the Florida Gators remain in the SEC East race. If UF wins out and Tennessee loses a second conference game, the Gators go to Atlanta. Which is why the pressure is on the LSU Tigers. A home loss to the No. 9 team would be a crushing blow to a team that had their coach circling the BCS title game on the calendar and calling out USC. With the Gators, Atlanta was the team goal (well, among those of us with realistic expectations). For Tiger fans, it's New Orleans, but not for the Sugar Bowl. But, there are still people who believe that UF has to win to stay relevant in the SEC race.
  • Bubba is in. And Early Doucet should be out for LSU.
  • Every time I start to get worried about today's game, I find a story like this. I keep trying to convince myself that if we lose, it's ok as long as we win out. But then someone predicts an upset, always with the caveat that the person picking the game might be insane.
  • They're pulling out all the stops in Baton Rouge tonight. There will be a live tiger on the sidelines.
  • We'll have two short stories before today's game. And since the live blog is officially bad luck, there will be an open game thread instead. By the way, I was glad to see someone got the Everybody's All American reference in the poll. Originally, I was going to go with Gavin Grey as the player, then Early Doucet but he's out, so I settled on LaFell.
