Know Your Enemy: Vanderbilt

Opponent: Vanderbilt Commodores (Their mascot should be Cornelius Vanderbilt, their founder, pictured here.)

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Previous Game Against UF: 2006, lost to the Florida Gators 25-19.

This season: 5-3 (2-3 SEC)

Notable Statistic(s): Vandy is looking to become bowl eligible for the first time since 1982...The last time Vandy defeated UF was 1988...The only time UF lost at home to Vandy was 1945...Florida has won their last 17 homecoming games.

Notable Player(s): While it will be a game time decision, sophomore QB Mackenzi Adams is expected to start. In 126 offensive touches, Adams has run 52 times. It will be a run attack by committee with the real concern around WR Earl Bennett running past Wondy Pierre-Louis on his way to a 85 yard TD catch.
Vandy is third in the SEC for scoring and total offense and leads with 24 sacks. They have five guys with three sacks and are led by senior LB Jonathan Goff with 71 tackles this season.

Unconfirmed Rumor About Team: During the 1950's, Vanderbilt was investigated for the use of `Commies' as a nickname. To avoid the wrath of Congress, Vandy started calling their teams `Gold Legs' in the same manner that Cincinnati called their baseball team the `Red Legs.'
