There is some excellent news from the diamond tonight, as the Gators beat #1 FSU 16-7 in Jacksonville. This win gives the Gators eight straight victories, a streak that includes sweeping two road series against conference teams (Auburn and Georgia).
By the way, Matt LaPorta is a monster. He hit two homers tonight against the 'Noles, completing a stretch in which he has hit 10 longballs in the last seven games. He has driven in 35 runs on the season with 15 homeruns, while batting .433. I would go out on a limb and say he is our MVP thus far.
Very positive things happening with this squad after a less-than-impressive start for Coach Mac and the gang.
