Gators Basketball at Georgia

The Florida Gators start a sprint to the finish after having the weekend off. The first game out of the blocks is Georgia, who despite being 3-9 in the SEC, is third in scoring defense (68.5). As was the case the last time these two teams played, Georgia still has a terrible offense, but their defense is active enough to cause problems and bring the opponent to their level. Of their nine league losses, five are by single digits including by three at home to Tennessee and by six at Kentucky.

In the previous meeting, UF won 77-67, but it wasn't pretty. UGA had chances in the second half, pulling to within two with about 12 minutes left. But poor free throw shooting (3-11) and depth (their bench had zero points) killed them.

For the Gators to win, it's not just about overpowering the Bulldogs with offensive fire power. They need to get into a rhythm and establish the pace in the game because UGA will want to slow it down. Plus, the last time UF had a bye they came back and crapped the bed at Arkansas. They cannot let that happen in another road gym.

Since UF won last week after I put an Against Me! video in the preview, here's Thrash Unreal. If the Gators win again, we'll get deeper into their catalog.

By the way, can someone explain to me why the game is on taped delayed on Sun? It was like that last year too. Is Athens so high in the mountains that the signal can't get out in time?
