Matt LaPorta Becomes a Man

Monday night, former Gator Matt Laporta had his first hit as a Major Leaguer; a two run homer in Toronto, to tie the game 2-2 in the 7th. The hit was only the second of the game for the Tribe, as Blue Jays pitcher Brian Tallet had no-hit Cleveland through 6.1 innings. The Indians won the game 9-7 in 12 innings, defeating the team with the AL's best record. Last night's game was the second for LaPorta. He made his Major League debut Sunday, going 0-4 with two strikeouts in a loss at Detroit.
