Tracking The Army All-American Bowl: The Rich Get Richer!

New, 4 comments

[Update] Ronald Powell picks the Gators. That makes UF 3 for 3 today. The rumors of Urban Meyer's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

[Update] Andy Staples says it is Florida for Powell.

[Update] Matt Elam picks the UF hat. "Are you positive?" Elam: "Positive"

[Update] Sharrif Floyd commits to Florida. He also just did the biggest Gator chomp I have ever seen. Floyd will be a force if Florida ends up switching to the 3-4 and it gives UF a lot of depth in the middle.

[Update] Matt Elam's brother, Abram, reports on his website that Matt Elam has committed to Florida. We'll wait for the real thing, but online reports have the Browns safety emailing recruiting sites touting his brother's decision.

NBC will show the Army All-American Bowl liiiive at 1pm as high school kids makes decisions that will impact their lives, and decisions that might impact some of yours too. Any big updates will go here. Here are a few guys to watch out for;

Matt Elam: The DB/RB is far from the best player in this game, but is seen as the best Florida high school player. After a verbal to Florida, verbal to FSU, Elam will do the ugly hat roulette with a Georgia hat thrown in for fun  (OR IS IT?). Despite stories earlier this week, Elam has camera time to make a decision during the game.

Sharrif Floyd: A five star defensive tackle at 6-foot-3, 310 pounds that would have helped against Alabama's massive Crimson Line. Floyd is down to the Gators and Ohio State.

Ronald Powell: This defensive end from California is choosing between two teams with coaching staffs in transition; Florida and USC. Unlike Pete Carroll, Urban Meyer does not appear to be going anywhere else permanently. Florida is seen as the favorite here.

This is only three of the nine guys scheduled to make a TV decision, so this is subject to change. There are only two Florida verbals on the rosters; TE Gerald Christian (#2 tight end), CB Jaylen Watkins (#7 corner). Both are on the East team.
