Two days until National Signing Day, Florida only has a few spots remaining for scholarships. One of them needs to be filled by Tampa Catholic offensive lineman Chaz Green.
Defensive players Jeremy Deering (Tampa Leto) and Christian Jones (Lake Howell) might be higher on the wish list, but offensive linemen don't grow on trees. (Deering and Jones favor Jimbo's Flying Circus.) Especially a 6-foot-6, 290 offensive lineman. Green isn't going to make of break this class, but Florida has only one other OL signee. Teams only go as far as their line takes them. While Florida has four linemen returning, and had five OL signees last year, you can never have too many linemen.
Green was formerly favoring Tennessee, but Lane Kiffin's defection brought Florida back to the top. Kiffin is putting on the press from USC and Green's pick is still up in the air. It looks like it will come down to Wednesday.
