Four Gators pitched well, but not good enough as the Gators lost the fourth and final game to FSU, 3-2. The Noles won the season series 3-1.
In typical f'ed up Tallahassee fashion, the game began with a power outage and the first 3.5 innings were played without power. But that didn't stop the Seminole fans from getting to the game on their cows and circus animals, with the game played in front of the 8th largest crowd in FSU history.
FSU (26-7) struck quick, pounding UF starter Greg Larson (1-1) with seven hits and three runs. After Larson was removed at the end of two innings, the Gators (23-9) only allowed four more hits. Offensively, the Gators could only manage five hits and two runs against FSU starter Scott Sitz. Preston Tucker and Austin Maddox were each 1-4 and scored a run. Josh Adams and Mike Zunino got the RBIs.
UF travels to Kentucky (21-12, 4-8) this weekend.
