From the Gainesville Sun:
A former walk-on player for the University of Florida football team died Saturday after he apparently suffered a seizure and was taken to a local hospital.
Lamar Abel, 21, had complained earlier in the day that he wasn't feeling well, said UF spokesman Steve Orlando.
Abel had been participating in a roadside cleanup activity with his fraternity Saturday and reported later he didn't fell well, Orlando said. He was later taken to Shands at the University of Florida and died.
Abel joined the Gators as a walk-on in 2007. In 2008, he dressed in five games, including seeing action in the Georgia game at defensive line. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
