Seahawks' Dan Quinn named Gators defensive coordinator; former Notre Dame coach named offensive line coach

Will Muschamp has nearly filled his staff and he has gone to the NFL ranks to do it.

Seattle Seahawks defensive line coach Dan Quinn will be Florida's defensive coordinator. Like new offensive coordinator Charlie Weis with the Kansas City Chiefs, Quinn will remain with the Seahawks as long as they are in the NFL playoffs. Quinn joined the Seahawks in January after working with the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers. He also coached at William & Mary, VMI and Hofstra. Quinn played at Salisbury State in Maryland in the early 1990s.

The Gators have also hired former Notre Dame offensive line coach Frank Verducci, who has coached the lines for the Cleveland Browns, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals. He has also coached at Iowa, Northwestern, Northern Illinois, Maryland and Colorado State. Verducci played at the U.S. Merchant Marne Academy in the late 1970s. He will also be the Gators' running game coordinator.
