The Gainesville Sun reports that Jacoby Brissett will be Florida's starter against Auburn. Pat Dooley's writing the article, but uses "The Sun learned Thursday" as his operative phrase; as Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post notes, it's also been essentially confirmed by GatorZone staff writer Scott Carter.
Dooley also writes that Jeff Driskel will dress and is expected to play. It is unclear whether Brissett is the starter because of lingering effects of Driskel's ankle injury or because he has legitimately passed Driskel on Charlie Weis' depth chart, but Driskel's ankle injury was reportedly not bothering him earlier this week in practice.
Brissett will make his second collegiate start his second straight start, and looks to improve on a performance against LSU that had an outstanding moment — a 65-yard touchdown pass to Andre Debose — and a lot of things that he would likely rather forget, including two interceptions.
Update (11:38 a.m. Friday): Florida coach Will Muschamp confirms that Brissett is the Gators' starter against Auburn.
