This is about as close as we'll come to confirmation that John Brantley's going to start at quarterback for Florida today: He's throwing in warm-ups, according to the Orlando Sentinel's Rachel George and a lot of other Gators writers in Jacksonville.
QB John Brantley is out throwing on the field now. A LOT of tape on his right ankle. Encouraging sign for #Gators.
But there's also this bit of augury, from Associated Press writer Mark Long: Charlie Weis, who is moving up to the press box to handle offensive coordinator duties against Georgia, would probably not take the risk of not talking to his quarterback face-to-face if it were Jacoby Brissett or Jeff Driskel making the start.
In any case, it's a good sign for Florida, which has struggled mightily to move the ball and score points in Brantley's absence. Even a diminished Brantley should enable Weis to open his playbook against the Dawgs.
