Recruiting: Mike Davis Decommits From Florida

Sunday night, on a conference call for Florida's Gator Bowl match-up with Ohio State, Gators coach Will Muschamp had this to say about recruiting: "It's going great. Recruiting has been outstanding. Players very easily see where we are headed with this." At least one player is not fully on board with that vision: Georgia running back Mike Davis, who decommitted from Florida on Sunday night and tweeted as much to confirm his decision.

Davis — a four-star running back according to Rivals, which has changed his interest in Florida to "low" — took an official visit to Tennessee over the weekend, and told Derek Tyson of ESPN's GatorNation that a "misunderstanding" led to his decommitment ($). The popular theory about that misunderstanding is that Florida's continued recruitment of five-star Georgia running back Keith Marshall had Davis re-thinking his commitment to the Gators; those who would like to believe that particular theory will probably find something to support it in this Davis tweet about coaches and "B.S.".

The Bull Gator's going to have some analysis of what Davis' decommitment might mean tomorrow. Tonight, feel free to discuss it in the comments.
