Nobody saw this one coming. The No. 3 Gators softball team was upset 6-2 by No. 23 Auburn in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday afternoon in Oxford, Mississippi. Auburn jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning off Senior Pitcher Stephanie Brombacher and never looked back. The Gators defense didn't do the team any favors, committing three errors on the day that led to four unearned runs for the Tigers.
The Gators fall to 47-9 on the season and now must await their NCAA Tournament fate which will be determined during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show Sunday at 10pm on ESPNU.
