Will Muschamp's first Friday Night Lights will be held on July 22, and according to Jeff Barlis of the Gainesville Sun, this year's edition will be the best one yet. That isn't really all that big of a surprise considering the Friday Night Lights idea came from the mind of Urban Meyer in 2005. You know, back when Urban was Urban.
To understand the importance of this event and what it has meant to Florida football, all one has to do is a quick search on Google. In roughly .10 seconds, there are 453,000 results. Now, I'm sure that they aren't all pertaining to the Gators' version of Friday Night Lights (thanks to that show of the same name), but still, it isn't like this event is unheard of.
To keep things simple, Jeff Barlis has an updated list (on his blog linked above) on those who are planning to attend. He points out that the list is subject to change due to the nature of the clientele. Someone should send Jeff a fruit basket or something for going out on a limb with that comment.
