Recruiting Update: John Theus And Marvin Bracy Have Florida Gators In Top Three And Four Respectively

Jacksonville (Bolles) five-star offensive tackle John Theus has the Florida Gators in his final three along with Georgia and Texas. Theus is ranked as the #2 OT (#7 overall) prospect by Rivals, the #3 OT by Scout and the #6 OT (#27 overall) prospect by ESPN.

In a previous post here at Alligator Army, author Cardsfan25 had this to say about Theus:

Theus could have started for a lot of good college teams as junior in high school. He's an excellent run blocker, who drives opponents off the ball, and has great feet. He's a well polished player right now, and depending on the situation, could come in and play OT right away. Theus is on this list because he's both elite, and is considering Florida. That being said, he's considered to be a Georgia lock at this point, barring anything happening with the Georgia coaching staff. His brother signed at UGA last year, and Theus figures to do the same. It is not out of the question though, to think that if the Dawgs struggle again this year, that coach Richt could be on his way out of Athens. If that happens, Theus recruitment would probably become a Florida/FSU battle.

Orlando (Boone) four-star wide receiver Marvin Bracy has included the Gators (along with Florida State, Texas A&M and LSU) on his final list of four schools. The speedster (think Demps) has chosen those schools in part because all four have excellent track programs as well. The four schools finished 1-4 in this years outdoor track national championships and they all finished in the top five at the indoor track championship meet.

Some other tidbits:

2012 linebacker Kwon Alexander likes the Gators a lot thanks to running back Mike Davis.

2013 Yulee High running back Derrick Harvey has the Gators as his early favorite.

Massive defensive tackle and highly-ranked prospect Ellis McCarthy has the Gators in his top five.

Derrick Woods, Landon Collins and Jayden Mickens (current USC commit) are also very high on the Gators.
