Florida Gators No. 12 In Both AP and Coaches Polls After Victory Over Kentucky

The Florida Gators jumped three spots to No. 12 in both the Week 5 AP Poll and the Week 5 USA Today Coaches Poll after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday. The Gators remain solidly in the top 15 and should move into the top 10 by this time next week with a victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Gators play No. 3 Alabama next Saturday at home in a game that will undoubtedly be one of the weekend's top match-ups.

For those interested:

  • LSU is ranked No. 1 (AP) and No. 2 (Coaches)*
  • Alabama is ranked No. 3 (AP) and No. 2 (Coaches)*
  • South Carolina is ranked No. 10 (AP) and No. 9 (Coaches)
  • Arkansas is ranked No. 18 in both polls.
  • Florida State is ranked No. 23 (AP) and No. 24 (Coaches)
  • Tennessee and Georgia are among the teams receiving votes.

The SEC still has five teams ranked. Last week all five of those teams were in the top 15, but after Arkansas' loss to Alabama, the five SEC teams are now only in the top 18.

*Alabama and LSU are tied for second in the Coaches Poll.
