Last time Florida took the floor, the Gators played a fairly good game against a damn good team on the road — for about 38 minutes. Then the last minute of Florida's 65-64 loss to Arizona happened, leaving fans and players flabbergasted by a six-point lead that evaporated in less than 60 agonizing seconds.
The Gators may try a different tack than the essentially six-man rotation Billy Donovan rolled out against Arizona with the Southeastern Louisana Lions in town: Kenny Boynton, struggling mightily to balance his natural scoring inclinations with running the Gators' offense, could be spelled more by Scottie Wilbekin, and Michael Frazier, lethal off the bench as a three-point shooter, should get more than the three minutes he was limited to in Tucson because of an illness.
It won't matter, though: The Gators occupy the top spot in Ken Pomeroy's ratings of the most efficient Division I teams because of tremendous offense and defense, and SELA has one of the worst offenses in the country, ranking No. 337 of 347 teams at scoring according to Pomeroy's ratings.
The game tips at 7 Eastern and will be broadcast on Sun Sports and on ESPN3. I'll be in the comments and on Twitter
