Avery Young, the No. 74 rated recruit according to Rivals, has committed to the Auburn Tigers, announcing the news on television on National Signing Day 2012. Young, who played for Palm Beach Gardens High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida chose Auburn over Florida, Georgia and at least two other finalists for his services.
Young said that "everything about Auburn was good, they made sure I felt like I was at home and that I really liked it a lot." He also said "War Eagle" quite a few times (including when picking up the Auburn hat) as well.
Young had zeroed in on Auburn on National Signing Day after also considering Florida and Georgia. He had flirted for a time with both Floria and Georgia, and recently re-opened the recruiting process and finally settled on the Tigers.
Young was the ninth-highest offensive tackle in the Rivals rankings and joins an Auburn squad that seems to be filled with ether freshman or players who will soon be graduating. He will be expected to compete for a starting job as soon as he officially steps foot on campus as an Auburn Tiger.
