Will Muschamp has indefinitely suspended and issued a statement on Florida tight end A.C. Leonard, who was arrested Wednesday night for misdemeanor battery. Via GatorZone's Scott Carter:
"This behavior will not be tolerated and A.C. has been suspended from team activities at this time."
"I certainly don't condone this type of behavior -- it is not what we expect from the University of Florida football program."
Leonard was arrested after police were called to an apartment by a woman who he has been dating for almost a year and a half and living with since January. Leonard's arrest report states that he shoved her, causing her to fall into a dog cage, and dragged her by her hair in an attempt to get her out of the apartment.
Leonard's arrest is the 10th for the Gators during Muschamp's tenure and just the second for something other than marijuana possession or underage drinking — Dee Finley, who was suspended for a game after being arrested for resisting arrest last fall, has since transferred.
Leonard tweeted "#Faith I Still Know he has My Back still Smilin" Thursday afternoon, his first tweet since the arrest.
