Florida finished off its successful Junior Day with a commitment from Keanu Neal (South Sumter/Bushnell, Fla.). Neal’s commitment gives the Gators six verbals from Junior Day and 10 total in the Class of 2013, all of whom are from the state of Florida.
At 6’0", 204 pounds, Neal is a linebacker/safety tweener and hasn’t necessarily been given a specific position by the UF coaches, although he seems like he’ll probably end up at safety.
If he does end up at safety, that would give Florida two ’13 safeties, Nick Washington being the other. It’ll be interesting to see where that puts the Gators’ chances with Marcell Harris, the top safety on the board and a Gator legacy.
The way Will Muschamp is recruiting the Class of 2013, spots are going fast and recruits looking to enroll early are at a premium. There will always be a spot for Harris and other elite prospects. But with depth piling up, will they still want in?
