Florida Gators Track And Field Begins Outdoor Season At UCF Invitational

After the Florida Gators track and field team enjoyed a successful indoor season, the focus must now shift over to its outdoor season which begins today at the UCF Invitational in Orlando, Florida. The Gators were recently voted the preseason No. 1 by the USTFCCA.

The UCF Invitational begins today at 2:00 p.m. ET and continue on until the completion of the 10,000m run which is scheduled to begin at 8:20 p.m. ET. The action begins on Saturday at 11:00 p.m. ET and continues until the results are in from the 4x400m relay. The 4x400m relay is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. ET.

All events will take place at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex which is located on the main campus of the University of Central Florida. Other ranked teams that will be joining the Gators in Orlando are: Virginia Tech (No. 10), Baylor (No. 12) and Princeton (No. 22).

In action today for the Gators are:

Anthony Amodio, Max Lang and Kyle Mailloux (pole vault), David Levin, Jeremy Postin and David Triassi (hammer throw), Josh Pederson (long jump), Zane Breakiron and Stipe Zunic (javelin).

In action on Saturday for the Gators are:

Ryan Summers (high jump), Hunter Joyer (shot put), Tyler Osorio, Michael Burris and Jovon Toppin (400m dash), Tyler Cardillo, Luc Lawrence, John Mitchell and Daniel Wehunt (800m run), Burris, Osorio, and Toppin (200m dash). The Gators' 4x400 relay will be Burris (leg one), Osorio (leg two), Toppin (leg three) and William Wynne (anchor).
