The Seattle Seahawks selected Florida defensive tackle Jaye Howard with the 114th pick in the NFL Draft.
Howard unexpectedly jumped Chris Rainey to become the first Gator selected in the 2012 draft.
Howard had the talent to declare after his junior season, but decided to return to Florida. He was considered an NFL-level defensive lineman, but lacked the consistency of a first- or second-round draft choice.
With Howard off the board, all three of the major Florida schools now have a selection after bering shut out of the first round. It was also the first time since 1977 that Florida and Florida State didn't have a player picked in the first three rounds.
