The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Florida running back Chris Rainey with the 159th overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. Rainey will rejoin fellow Gators Marcus Gilbert, Brandon Hicks and Maurkice Pouncey, who was Rainey's high school teammate at Lakeland.

Rainey is viewed as a change-of-pace type of back with his 5'8", 185-pound frame, certainly not an every-down bruiser. He's also viewed as a potential game-changer on special teams. He can also split out and play slot receiver and create plays with his speed and athleticism.

Rainey finished the 2011 season as Florida's leading rusher with 861 yards. He was also second on the team in receiving yards with 381.
