For the Florida Gators it's win or go home. Well, for the most part anyway.

Both the men's and women's track and field teams are in Jacksonville, Florida today for the NCAA East Preliminary round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

For a men's team that had championship aspirations at the beginning of the outdoor season, it's basically the end of the line. They aren't winning the National Championship without Gray Horn, who will miss these qualifiers due to an act of individual stupidity. There is some good news though, as Jeff Demps is back and ready to go.

The women's team on the other hand, has a chance. It's a small chance, but a chance nonetheless. But we'll get more in-depth into that subject a little later on.

Today marks the first of three-days in which athletes can qualify for the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa that begin on June 6th.

As always, schedule of events and viewing information after the jump.

Attempting to qualify for the Men's NCAA Outdoor Championships:

Dwight Barbiasz and Frankie Hammond Jr. (high jump), Tyler Cardillo and John Mitchell (800 meter run), Omar Craddock and Marquis Dendy (long jump and triple jump), Jeff Demps (100 meter dash), Dedric Dukes and Leonardo Seymore (200 meter dash), Hugh Graham Jr., and Tony McQuay (400 meter dash), Josh Izewski (5,000 meter run), Eddie Lovett (110 meter hurdles), Mark Parrish (3,000 meter steeplechase), Jeremy Postin and David Triassi (hammer throw) and Stipe Zunic (javelin).

Attempting to qualify for the Women's NCAA Outdoor Championships:

Ciarra Brewer (triple jump), Amani Bryant, Ugonna Ndu and Ashley Usery (400 meter hurdles), Taylor Burke (high jump), Callie Cooper (10,000 meter run), Darshay Davis (100 meter and 200 dash), Kaitlin Davis (discus), Ebony Eutsey and Lanie Whittaker (400 meter dash), Lorraine Graham and Daniela Griffin (long jump), Brittany Harrell (heptathlon), Shelby Hayes, Cory McGee, Mandy Perkins and Agata Strausa (1,500 meter run), Genevieve LaCaze and Stephanie Strasser (3,000 meter steeplechase), Ashley Miller (discus), Ndu (100 meter hurdles) and Florence Ngetich (10,000 meter run).

The men's team will also be running the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays as well. The women's team will only be running the 4x400 meter relay.

The action begins today at 11:00 a.m. and continues on until 10:00 p.m. On Friday, the action resumes at 10:00 a.m. and also ends at around 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, the action picks up at 11:00 a.m. and ends at, you guessed it, 10:00 p.m.

University of North Florida Ospreys athletic website is your destination for meet central, as they are hosting the meet. They're also supposed to have a live video feed (at the same location, I think) of the meet and Flash Results is handling the online results as is custom during Championship meets.

Also, Alligator Army will have results posted upon the completion of each days events as soon as possible.
