Florida has a chance to punch a ticket to Omaha for the third straight year on Sunday in the Gainesville Super Regional, but they will take on a N.C. State team with its back to the wall that starts a pitcher who specializes in punchouts. Freshman Carlos Rodon will start for the Wolfpack, and bring the arsenal that helped him compile 132 strikeouts and a 1.61 ERA to bear on Florida bats that have racked up 32 runs in four NCAA Tournament games so far. Jonathon Crawford, coming off a no-hitter, gets the start for Florida, in a wise move by Kevin O'Sullivan.
