Ball On A Boat: Florida Basketball Will Play Georgetown In Navy/Marine Corps Classic Game November 6

Harry How

Even after the rest of Florida basketball's schedule was released, with a date with Wisconsin highlighting one of the Gators' toughest slates ever, and after Marquette was named Florida's opponent in the SEC-Big East Challenge, GatorZone's Chris Harry was teasing one final mystery opponent. Today, we learned who that opponent would be: Georgetown.

We also learned that the Gators will meet the Hoyas on a U.S. Navy ship.

ESPN's Andy Katz is reporting that a Florida-Georgetown matchup will one of three game played on vessels in the 2012-13 season, joining Ohio State-Marquette and Syracuse-San Diego State. The two teams will play on November 6 on a ship outside of Jacksonville.

In 2011, North Carolina defeated Michigan in the first Carrier Classic, played off the coast of San Diego on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson. President Barack Obama was among the thousands in attendance, and got to see a truly awesome show.

Are you psyched about this Carrier Classic game? Happy that Florida's toughest non-conference game will come on a boat? Already making plans to be at the game? I'll be in the comments.
