Will Muschamp's background as a defensive backs coach has made getting primetime-ready players in his secondary a primary objective and strong point of his recruiting. On Thursday, he reeled in his biggest commitment yet, with Vernon Hargreaves III pledging to join the Gators and announcing it in the sort of tweet that should make every Florida fan happy.
I can officially say I am committed to THE University of Florida ! #GoGators CHOMP CHOMP

Hargreaves, a highly regarded corner from Tampa's Wharton Prep, visited Florida on Thursday in advance of the Friday Night Lights camp on, er, Friday. He had been considered a possibility for Florida for quite some time, but only looked like a lean of late, after naming the Gators his top team following a national slate of visits.
Florida now has 18 commits in the fold for the Class of 2013, and a handful of scholarships left to hand out, but it'll be hard for any player to match Hargreaves for national acclaim and talent. The only Florida targets who could take that top spot from Hargreaves are Laremy Tunsil, a fellow local and consensus top-five recruit, and Mackensie Alexander, a top-10 player in many eyes.
Hargreaves also joins a fantastic group of DBs: He, Nick Washington, Keanu Neal, and Tre Bell form a quartet that could be the centerpiece of any school's class. And the Gators are still likely Marcell Harris' leader and a player for Leon McQuay III.
Maybe Hargreaves can do some calling around? This was his last tweet before committing:
But here's my number
