Remember how I was noting the nuttiness of the Gators beat? Rachel George, who left the beat at the Orlando Sentinel for USA TODAY Sports, just scooped everyone with what appears to be the most complete story on Driskel's injury.
Her source? His mom.
Mary Driskel told USA TODAY Sports her son told her he injured his left, non-throwing shoulder in drills on Sunday and woke up sore on Monday.
She said Driskel did not practice on Monday or Tuesday but is expected to return on Wednesday.
If Driskel's shoulder was sore after practice on Sunday, which seems like it was the first day of the "thud" tempo after a scrimmage on Saturday, but not sore enough for Will Muschamp to mention publicly on Monday, it was and is probably not as "significant" as some of the breathless reports from this morning indicated.
And if George just made an end run on everyone in Gainesville working this story and came up with the definitive story on it, it shows one more thing about the Gators beat: It's so big, everyone knows someone, and everyone has a source of some sort.
