Florida vs. South Carolina, Game Thread: Gators look to avoid losing five in a row

The Florida Gators must win tonight in Columbia, South Carolina if they want to avoid the prospects of a losing season. They still could not if things go badly tonight, but it will only get tougher.

The Florida Gators face off against the South Carolina Gamecocks tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2 in what should be a do-or-die game for the Gators. Facing their first five game losing streak since who knows when (I do not in fact know, nor do I really care) the Gators will look to right the ship in Columbia.

Whether or not you support coach Will Muschamp or believe that he'll be around next season this game is much more than that. It's time to stand behind the Gators as a team and as a program and see this thing through. The players haven't quit yet and neither should we as fans.

We've taken a look at the Gamecocks' offense and given our predictions where our editor in chief thinks this game will be a blowout loss for the Gators. But I'm not quite so sure about that. Call it a feeling. I will say in the interest of full disclosure though that I've had this feeling for what seems like a month now.

If you're feeling frisky and what to check out things from a Gamecock point of view, feel free to visit our friends over at Garnet And Black Attack for all things Gamecocks. They're nice people and from the best that I can tell they aren't proponents of cock fighting.

Anyway, enjoy the game tonight the best you can. I'll be here throughout the game in the comments as well as giving you your prompt recap. Andy is traveling to and will be attending tonight's festivities in Columbia and will be back later after the game.

Enjoy and Go Gators!
