Florida freshman point guard Kasey Hill suffered a high ankle sprain against Southern, the team announced through GatorZone's Chris Harry late Monday.
And that may mean Hill will be out for a month or more, if you listen to Billy Donovan tell it:
Donovan on Kasey Hill high ankle sprain: "Right now, I think in talking to the doctor and the trainer, minimum we're looking at a month."

Hill's injury is fairly rare for basketball players, who often suffer more benign ankle sprains right at the ankle, but Florida's Casey Prather sustained a high ankle sprain last season, as The Independent Florida Alligator's Landon Watnick noted:
Casey Prather had same injury last year. Returned after 18 days. If Hill follows same path, would return in time for Kansas.

Prather suffered his injury against LSU on January 12, and next played on January 30.
A timeframe of a month for Hill would keep him out of Florida's next five games, including showdowns with Connecticut, Kansas, and Memphis. If Hill can recover within Prather's 18-day window, however, he would be ready to play against Kansas on December 10 — currently 22 days away.
Without Hill, Florida likely will turn to a point guard by committee approach until the return of Scottie Wilbekin from suspension, with guards Michael Frazier II and Eli Carter the most likely primary ball-handlers. When Wilbekin does return next Monday against Jacksonville, he's almost certain to play in excess of 30 minutes a night as Florida's lone true point guard.
We'll have plenty more in the morning about Hill's injury and its effect on Florida, but, at a minimum, it puts Hill's promising career in neutral for a little while, and leaves a team that was looking fun and dangerous without a driver.
