Patric Young scored his 1,000th point and put up 15 points, pacing Florida in the Gators' 76-34 win over Savannah State on Sunday.

Young needed 12 points for 1,000 in his career, and got the 1,000th and 1,001st on a putback in the second half that elicited a standing ovation from the thousands in attendance in the O'Connell Center on Sunday afternoon. His 15 points led all scorers, though three other Gators joined him in double figures, and Dorian Finney-Smith had seven rebounds off the bench to lead Florida.

Florida put the clamps on the lowly Tigers, especially in the first half, which ended with the Gators up 34-11; Savannah State only got into double figures with just over a minute left. The Tigers shot 25.5 percent from the field on the day, were 10-for-40 on their two-pointers, and coughed up 20 turnovers.

The Gators, on the other hand, were 25-for-51 from the field, with Scottie Wilbekin and Michael Frazier II each making three three-pointers to fuel a 7-for-16 day from behind the arc. Kasey Hill had one of his finer days as a Gator off the bench, scoring seven points and distributing five assists.

Florida will finish its non-conference schedule on Saturday against Richmond before entering SEC play, and improved to 10-2 on the season with the win.
