247Sports' J.C. Shurburtt reports that Columbia, South Carolina linebacker Christian Miller has committed to Florida. The Gators' Junior Day rolls on.
Miller, a four-star outside linebacker ranked in 247's Top247 for 2014, had been leaning to Florida of late, and told 247 that the Gators led late in January. In addition to the Top247, the 6'4", 200-pound Miller has four stars from Rivals, and sits on ESPN's 2014 Watch List.
Miller is the sort of fast outside linebacker who could grow into a BUCK player for Florida, even though he's much thinner than the two players, Ronald Powell and Dante Fowler Jr., who will play that position for Florida in 2013. And he fills a need at that position for Florida, given that only Antonio Riles seemed likely to play the BUCK role from the Gators' 2013 recruiting class.
Miller is the third player to commit to Florida today, following Travaris Dorsey and Benjamin Knox, and replaces decommitment Travonte Valentine as the second defensive player committed to the Gators in the 2014 class.
