Florida Gators track and field heads to California, Texas and Jacksonville

The Florida Gators track and field teams begin a huge weekend of competition at the 86th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

The Florida Gators track and field teams will take the first steps toward outdoor national title this weekend as they prepare for the North Florida Invitational, Stanford Invitational, and Texas Relays. Obviously, the biggest one is the Texas Relays, but four distance athletes will be heading to Stanford and most of the sprint and jumpers will be in North Florida. The rest of the rosters will be there competing in the 86th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

You can view the entire Texas Relays schedule here, courtesy of GatorZone. The action begins today at 12:00 p.m. ET and continues until the completion of the 6:00 p.m. ET running of the 400m hurdle preliminaries. On Friday, things resume at 10:30 a.m. ET with the javelin and will wrap up around 9:00 p.m. ET after the conclusion of long jump. On Saturday, things start at 2:30 p.m. ET and will conclude with the 4x400m relay at a little after 5:00 p.m. ET.

And since they are massively promoting it this year, the official Twitter hashtag of the 2013 Texas Relays is #TXRelays13. Feel free to follow, search or tweet that hashtag if Twitter is your thing.

The meet central page at TexasSports is your home base for everything 2013 Texas Relays. The Longhorn Network will be providing television coverage of the meet in its entirety, but I'm guessing nobody has that channel. TexasSports is also handling the online timing results which you can view here.

As for the Stanford Invite, things begin for the Gators 11:40 p.m. ET with Matt Mizereck in the 5,000m run. Things continue later that night past midnight ET with the 10,000m run. The North Florida Invite begins and concludes on Saturday, March 30th with the action starting at 9:30 a.m. ET and wrapping up at around 2:00 p.m. ET.
