On the day before nearly the entire roster is active, the Gators had a pretty good time at the 2013 Texas Relays.

Two Florida Gators stood out from the crowd on the second day of competition at the 2013 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday as Kyle Strawn set a personal best in the hammer throw and Ugonna Ndu barely missed out on winning her heat in the preliminary round of the 400m hurdles.

Strawn's personal best throw of 62.36m, which occurred on his second attempt, was good for fourth place overall. He beat his previous best from last week which was a throw of 62.20m. As for Ndu, she will race in today's 400m hurdles finals due to her 58.59s qualifying time. While she finished fifth overall in qualifying, she came in second overall in her heat.

The women's heptathlon also concluded yesterday and the Gators' entrant Lorraine Graham finished sixteenth overall with 4,997 points.

The other Gators in action in Texas yesterday were Amani Bryant and Paige Morton in the 400m hurdles and Gabe Aird and Kadesh Roberts in the men's 400m hurdles. Neither of the four ran a good enough time for qualification into today's finals.

The action begins today at 10:30 a.m. ET with the javelin and will wrap up around 9:00 p.m. ET after the conclusion of long jump. The meet central page at TexasSports is your home base for everything 2013 Texas Relays. The Longhorn Network will be providing television coverage of the meet in its entirety, but I'm guessing nobody has that channel. TexasSports is also handling the online timing results which you can view here.

For information regarding the other meets the Gators will be participating in today and tomorrow, please refer to the previous article on the subject.
