The Florida Gators are set to host the sixth annual Tom Jones Memorial Classic today with the action beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET. Joining the No. 3 ranked men's team and No. 7 ranked women's team in Gainesville are plenty of outstanding track and field individuals and teams from around the country.
Some of those individuals and teams include former Gators standouts Will Claye and Jeff Demps and the universities of Florida Atlantic, Navy, UNF, UCF. Justin Gatlin, who is the former 100m world record holder will also be competing today. As we mentioned last year, this meet is very close to the hearts of those involved with Gators track and the entire athletic department.
As we said earlier, the meet which is free to the public, begins at 12:00 p.m. ET and is scheduled to end shortly after 7:00 p.m. ET barring any delays throughout the day. If you can't make it to the track, feel free to follow the results live online courtesy of Delta Timing. The schedule of events can be found at GatorZone.
Also as noted on the schedule page, this meet is the second-to-last weekend of regular season competition for the Gators as the SEC Outdoor Championships begin May 9th.
