Just as it is every year, the Pepsi Florida Relays are once again the main attraction when it comes to track and field in the state of Florida. The 69th annual Florida Relays begin today (well, technically yesterday, but that was high school athletes only) at 10:00 a.m. ET and weather is not a issue.
Joining the Gators in Percy Beard Track will be: Florida State, Southern Cal, Ole Miss, Indiana, Baylor and Oklahoma State on the men's side and Texas, UCF, Baylor, Georgia and Southern Cal on the women's side. And yes, every single one of those teams are ranked in the top 25 of the USTFCCCA poll for this week.
The official headquarters for the meet is located at GatorZone who have also provided heat sheets for the meet that are located here (field events) and here (running events). Because it's getting popular, the official hastag for the Florida Relays is #FLRelays, so you have that option if Twitter is your thing.
Live video of the meet is free (if you're a FloTrack Pro member) courtesy of FloTrack. The official timer of the meet will be Delta Timing and they've webpages up where you can view things a little differently than you could at Flash Results.
As mentioned above, the collegiate action begins today (as well as Saturday) at 10:00 a.m. ET and will continue on until the conclusion of events.
For a bit on the history of the meet you can read the GatorZone piece from this year about the meet or head back to the meet headquarters page linked above and just scroll down until you see the history section. It's quite the impressive story.
