The SEC Outdoor Championships begin Thursday at 12:30 p.m. ET at the University of Missouri's Audrey J. Walton Stadium and will continue through Sunday in the early evening when the 2013 SEC Outdoor Champion will be crowned. Florida is poised to run well at them: The Gators men, who are ranked No. 1 in the country, come in as the morning line favorite on the men's side, and the No. 3-ranked Gators women are one of the favorites on the women's side.
The only Gators who are scheduled to compete on Thursday are Lorraine Graham in the women's heptathlon and David Levin, Jeremy Postin, Kyle Strawn and David Triassi in the men's hammer throw. Those events begin at 12:30 and 3:00 p.m. Eastern, respectively, and the men's hammer throw will be concluded today.
Starting today, the meet will be aired live online courtesy of MUTigers.com. ESPN3 will also carry a live feed throughout the Championships along with MUTigers. Branch Sports Tech will have up-to-the-second results posted online as they are the official time keepers of the SEC Outdoor Championships this year.
Upon the conclusion of the meet, ESPNU will air a 90-minute highlight package of the Championships on Thursday May 23rd. A full schedule is available to you for free (as always) courtesy of GatorZone and heat sheets are on the SEC Digital Network's track and field page in PDF form.
Both the Gators men and women's teams have as good a shot as anyone does in winning the 2013 SEC Outdoor Championships. Let's just hope they make the most of this opportunity and do what we all know they can do. As you may know, the NCAA Outdoor Championships aren't that far off.
