A saga that began last Saturday with a report that Jeremy Foley had spoken to McElwain and hit fever pitch on Tuesday and Wednesday with Foley flying to Colorado to meet with McElwain and his wife has now mostly wrapped up, with little left to do but formally introduce McElwain at a press conference, likely to be held either Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
McElwain comes to Florida from Colorado State, where he had been the head coach since 2012, compiling a 22-16 record, and going 18-8 over the last two seasons. McElwain's built the Rams into an offensive power, and his teams have scored better than 30 points per game in all but one of his nine seasons as an FBS offensive coordinator or head coach.
