Florida Gators 2014 spring game: Let's watch the Orange & Blue Debut Selection Show

New, 84 comments

Florida's new draft show for its spring game is up next. Let's see what the Gators do with it.

In just a few minutes, that stream up above will be live, with Florida's brand-new Orange & Blue Debut Selection Show. In it, Gator great captains — Josh Evans and Shane Matthews for the Orange Team, Chris Doering and Jelani Jenkins for the Blue Team — will make selections that will shape the game being played on Saturday in The Swamp between the two "teams" in Florida's first real spring game since 2012.

When we discussed this earlier today, there was a fair bit of apprehension from y'all about whether this would disrupt any pre-existing plans to have a spring game that helped Florida's coaching staff learn things about players. But a Florida spokesman told me that this event is "designed for entertainment," and should probably be enjoyed rather than nit-picked, so I'm guessing coaches have signed on with or lightly scripted the player selection aspects of it.

Down below, I'll be keeping track of who goes to which team and live-blogging the proceedings. And for what it's worth, my bet on first pick is Jeff Driskel.

Join me in watching, analyzing, mocking, and/or drinking to the show, won't you?
