Florida takes the top spot in the final SEC Baseball Power Poll of the regular season, earning the honor unanimously by garnering all of this week's seven first place votes.
The Gators were unanimously No. 1 last week, too, and have now been the Power Poll's No. 1 team for three weeks running. That's what a 12-game winning streak against SEC competition will do, apparently.
This week's commentary from voters:
Didn't look dominant against the Vols, but they did enough to win the regular season SEC crown.
We have crowned a champion, and it is the Gators. Very curious to see what kind of postseason run they make.
I can't disagree with either observation.
The full SEC Power Poll is as follows:
- Florida
- Ole Miss
- South Carolina
- LSU
- Vanderbilt
- Mississippi State
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Kentucky
- Texas A&M
- Tennessee
- Georgia
- Auburn
- Missouri
Based on those rankings, one might think we should be rooting for Kentucky in today's No. 8/No. 9 matchup that will determine Florida's first 2014 SEC Tournament foe ... but I'd really rather see Alabama, just because I think the Gators match up better with the Tide.
What do you think?
