Let's pick a game for the 2014 Alligator Army tailgate

We've talked about various dates for the Alligator Army tailgate, but now it's time to get down to business.

Sam Greenwood

Alright ladies and gentlemen, it's time to get down to business.

Not too long ago, one of our posters came up with the idea of an Alligator Army tailgate during a football game this season and I'm sure we're all on board with the idea. Some of other college football blogs here at SB Nation have had great success in doing something like this (see: Dawg Sports' Goat Roast, for example) and it is my hope that ours will become greater than all of theirs.

Because after all, we've got to be better than Georgia in all things right?

For those who haven't been paying attention, single game tickets go on sale to the general public in late July, so I think that the sooner we do decide on a game the better off we'll be. It'll allow for those of us, like me, who don't have season tickets or live in Gainesville to be able to concentrate our efforts at securing tickets early in the game. Assuming of course that we don't settle on a game that we know won't be a sellout.

Keep in mind that the Gators have already announced two kickoff times. The Eastern Kentucky kickoff time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET and the Kentucky game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Judging by the comments up to this point though, it appears that the early leader is the October 18th date against Missouri. Some of you have voiced concerns about that game because it is in fact on Homecoming Week and we all know what that entails: more people, less parking, higher prices, etc. But that could just add to the flavor (we are barbecuing, right?) both literally and figuratively.

Football season is less than four months away, so the time is now. We'll get to things like location (we've got one possible, any more?) food (I can bring sides), drinks (to put up with my Tennessee Volunteer girlfriend) and games (corn hole?) later. For now though, let's just focus on the most important question of all: which game is it going to be?

So as you can see, we've got a lot of questions to answer and only a limited amount of time. We've already got some ideas for an official tailgate beer and some amazing sounding wings. We'll get to all of that very soon, I promise.

So if me bringing a Tennessee fan hasn't caused you to cancel your plans or if you're now secretly planning a get together without me, which I fully understand, feel free to vote below on which game you'd like the first Alligator Army tailgate to be at.

Don't forget to vote below! The poll will be open for about a month.
